We left the beautiful anchorage in Montserrat and arrived in Antigua early enough for me to phone home and wish my Dad Happy Birthday. The advance of modern communication has made cruisers lives much, much easier to keep in touch. Imagine what it would be like if instead of writing this blog I'd be sending 20 or 30 postcards every time I wanted to say a quick hello? And how would I hear your news? The old poste restante system that relied on a post office holding your letters until you turned up, if you turned up at all, in a certain city. I used poste restante when I was back packing all those years ago and it was very slow.
We had a cracking fast sail up to Antigua and moored in Jolly Harbour for the first night It’s a bit soulless as it’s a new man made marina, but we had to clear customs with some jolly people. I’ve not seen any Rogers yet, but keeping a sharp lookout.
