The adventures and misadventures of Jacqui and David aboard Jackster; our mission to sail the world visiting as many places as possible
27 December 2009
18 December 2009 Out into the night
Slipped out of the bay under sail and west to Colombia passing south of Aruba and coming within 20 miles of the north west coast of Venezuela. With the wind directly behind us we were able to pole out the head sail and fly along ahead of the seas averaging over 8 knots. With our sails rigged for down wind sailing we quickly pulled away from our travel companions and by the end of the day had opened up a gap of 12 miles. One day down and 2 ½ to go if we follow our prediction to arrive in Cartagena midday Monday.
