Christmas Eve

Christmas carols in Spanish in the shops, houses decorated with lights and flashing Santas, inflatable snowmen, illuminated reindeer and it's 30C. Today we went out for our special Christmas Lunch. Shirley and Taffy (yes, he's Welsh) from The Road (Royal Ordnance of Ancient Druids) had booked 30 of us into the best local rest restaurant and it was superb. The lady chef coped with a la carte for 30 and presented what might be the best meal we've had in our travels. David chose calamari with garlic sauce. The calamari was tender, the sauce sublime. I had smoked salmon on a bed of salad, pesto, capers and parmesan shavings. We both had fillet mignon for main, fillet wrapped in bacon with a wine and mushroom sauce, julienne vegetables and cream potatoes. By the main course we were already saying we have to go back to try more dishes.
We waddled back to the boat with our full tummies for the traditional post lunch snooze.
