Saturday 22 January Esteemed neighbours

new neighbours
Jackster alondside
With no room for us at the largest marina in the southern hemisphere we were forced to move to one of the most esteemed marinas in the same hemisphere – the marina that hosted the America's Cup boats. Our berth was huge, a corner big enough for a 24m boat and big enough for us to choose whether to go stern to the pontoon or alongside it. Our new neighbours are gleaming superyachts three or four times our size with permanent crew to polish and preen. Jackster may not be as clean, but she is a yacht that sails and has sailed 7000 miles ths year. Perhaps not a solid excuse but the best we have.
Auckland museum
Maori meeting house
After we'd settled in nicely we headed in to town to do sightseeing.  My first impression of downtown away from the waterfront was not favourable.  Auckland is not a patch on the beauty and vibrancy of Sydney.    However, we had a good look around and climbed the Domain to visit the national museum with it's excellent Maori and South Pacific exhibitions.

Well look at you, doing what you enjoy and seeing the world.Must say I'm sooooo jealous, though not on a boat (not a good sailor).I'm realy enjoying readin your about your progress, and trying to imagine what it would be like in the places you are visiting.:-)
We are still in SW France. The bussines in tourism was a no go from the off,so resorted to building work.7 years on we run a small but viable building company, renovating properties for mainly expats.
Woody came out to see me last summer, then when he returned to Hebden,he bumped into Sheila in the butchers and got your blog address.
    Anyway,
    Stay safe.
