Jackster is back in the water after her maintenance overhaul at the boat yard in Whangarei. David has worked 12 hours a day for the last three weeks applying anti foul to the hull, painting a new orange water line and polishing the top sides, fixing a noisy propeller, fixing the outboard, fixing the genset, adding new mixer taps, replacing running rigging, building shelves and many other jobs too numerous to mention. Lucky for me he still found time to phone in his daily reports and find out how much shopping I'd been doing in England.
It's good to be back on board and alongside in Town Basin Marina in Whangarei. David's patience continues as I've returned with my Mum for a 3 week visit. Our plan is to do a road trip next week and spend the last 2 weeks sailing through the islands to Auckland.
Seeing family and friends was good, but being home is better.
