Last minute shopping in Russell then anchors aweigh in 10 knots of westerlies to make the 20 mile trip up to the Cavalli islands, home of the wreck of the Rainbow Warrior which the French commandos bombed and sank when it was in Auckland harbour in 19...
Two miles out into the Bay of Islands and contrary to the weather forecast and conditions there are 25 knots flying at us from where we want to go.
