Noumea
has a wonderful aquarium. We found it fascinating when we visited
last year and have been looking forward to return trip. With
Jackster anchored in Baie Orpheliant we dinghied over to the Yacht
Club to ask if we could leave the dinghy there and take the shorter
walk to the aquarium. They were very kind and offered us a space on
their secure dock and we set off. The only hitch in our carefully
laid plans was to find the aquarium closed for 'extraordinaire'
something. Nothing for it but to go home and we can try another day.
The
upside was we returned to our current 'home port' of Ilot Maitre for
the weekend and had our pick of the mooring balls ahead of the
weekend rush.
