Alas
our hosts on Monday events were more generous than they intended.
Almost everyone is suffering prolonged and painful food poisoning,
possibly salmonella given the length and symptoms. David is more
sick than I am. He has periods of fever and periods of shivering. I
have the gastric problem and feel like I have flu.
It had
been our intention to anchor back at Derawan island for one night, do
some more snorkelling or possibly a dive and then cross from Borneo
to Toli Toli in western Sulawesi for the festivities planned for
Friday. I now think we'll have to miss. Neither of us wants to eat
anything except really bland food so would be difficult to go to a
dinner and not eat the meal and not offend the kind people of Toli
Toli. It's not their fault we are Western weaklings.
