Heading
west from Maasin we came to the Camotes islands, two islands, Poro to
the east linked by a bridge to Pacijan on the west and on the south
west corner of Pacijan is a big by backed by a long white beach,
resorts and restaurants, Santiago.
What's
not to like about Santiago as a cruiser? Nothing. We anchored in 8m
and went ashore to find dinner. There are four beach restaurants,
three owned by the same family. We chose Nenas and were happy with
our choice.
In
every village and community there is at least one church. Santiago
has two, one functioning and the other half built and damaged by the
typhoon which went through here in November.
