1 December Colourful Curacao

The day we chose to sail the short distance from Bonaire to Curacao was the wettest day we've known since Trinidad. But it's a short hop. We had the cockpit enclosed and stayed dry while Jackster had a long and cleansing freshwater shower.
Willemstad swing bridge
First nice surprise as we came in to the well protected Spanish Water was to find the anchorages were empty; lots of room to swing although the wind seems always to come from the NE, but in Spanish Water the seas are flat.
Checking in in Willemstad is super easy, especially when you can pre-clear online using Sailclear.com.
The Old Dutch colony island is larger and more commercial than Bonaire. The local architecture reflects the colourful Caribbean and South American influences.
