| beauty on the beach |
The outer reef of Guanaja is dotted with islands – most have private houses on them, but Josh's Cay is home to Graham's Resort which is friendly. We met the eponymous Graham, who comes from Cayman, who told us he had first bought the small island next to the one we were standing on and then created the resort island from dredged sand. This man made island featured in Forbes Travel magazine as the best beach in Honduras of which Graham was very proud.

| man made beach at Josh's Cay |
It is a pretty place, nice guest houses and a good bar come restaurant where we ate a couple of times. Graham offered us free water from the tap on the jetty and free ice if we wanted it. I also had a bag of laundry which the ladies washed, dried and folded for a tip.
There was diving too; on the outer reef of Josh's Cay there's a wall which we dived a couple of times. We dived the pass of the north channel and, our most adventurous dive, we took Jackster out to Southwest Cay, anchored on a sandbar and dived the south end of Southwest Cay. We thought this was the best of the four dives, again a wall with good visibility and healthy corals.
