Glovers
Reef is one of three offshore atolls belonging to Belize and where we
hoped to do some diving. We'd entered through the larger pass and
navigated to the anchorage where there were already five boats. It
is a lovely spot – 6m and sand with all round swell protection.
There
used to be two resorts, but was one destroyed about ten years ago and
never rebuilt. The other is owned and run by a family from Dangriga
on the mainland. Very friendly and welcoming folk. There's even
free WiFi available when the router's working.

There's
an over the water bar, a handy place to leave the dinghy and some
paths to walk and explore. On the seaward side there are larger
chalets which might be private, or might be available for rent. Only
one had people staying.
Finding
the dive shop was easy, just as easy as arranging to do a couple of
boat dives with them. “Just turn up when you want to go.”
