On 15 November 2008 we departed Fort Lauderdale for our inaugural passage on Jackster.
This was my first post on this blog
..on the first leg in our Big Adventure. Just three months from buying Jackster in Florida to heading out across the Gulf Stream to the Bahamas. It was a big rush to be ready to leave within the allowed 90 days grace before purchase tax was payable and to take advantage of a fine weather window. On board are Captain David Pemberton and two nervous crewmembers, the new Mrs Pemberton and David's old dive buddy, Neil Hughes. Onwards and eastwards.
That's sixteen years ago! Jackster has been improved. I hope we are better people; we're certainly more experienced sailors and world travellers. Thank you to all the wonderful people we met along the way who have enriched our lives – too many to mention individually but we thank you.
