3 April 2009 St Martin bound

With a full tank of fuel and stocked to the gunwales with duty free gin we departed St Thomas bound for St Martin via a couple of days in BVIs while we waited for the right wind direction.

We stopped in Leverick Bay, got our internet and some rest ready for a late afternoon departure. The trip is around 18 hours and we were timing it to arrive in Simpson Bay early the next morning. Coming out of Gorda Sound we hung a right and skirted past Mr Branson's Necker Island. Do you know they have aerials and antenna's disguised as palm trees to maintain the scenery. He may have chosen Necker for it's security aspect – 90% of the shoreline is cunningly protected by killer reefs and there is only one small approach for boats.
