9 March 2009 A dip in the bath

An early start across Drake Sound to a site called The Baths this morning. This is a national park. A collection of house size and bigger boulders on the shore that you can walk and climb through to get to one beach to another. Imagine a pile of potatoes on a table and you are ant size. Now imagine those potatoes precariously stacked as stone and you are the ant crawling underneath. Interesting eh? The sea penetrated in places so you walk through water, there are steps and climb throughs, ropes to pull yourself up and lower yourself on the other side. This is my second visit, and I still find it fascinating. Ron was taking some clever photos with his whizzy camera.

After we walked up the hill to the hotel on the top and gazed out over the Sound as Drake may have done 4 centuries ago.

In the afternoon we finally made it to Bitter End in Gorda Sound.
