Today's photo is of our groceries being delivered.
With our wind generator part delivered we can know think about moving on to the Islas Rosarios and then to the San Blas in the next few days. We'll stay in Cartagena to celebrate New Year and then it's away, away from the dirty water that growing barnacles on the hull and prop, away from the city, heat and water you can't swim in to the crystal waters of the Rosario islands 20 miles to the south. This is our last chance to take large stocks of provisions on board probably until we reach mainland Panama at the end of February.
With that in mind and a long shopping list in hand we departed for the discount warehouse and supermarket 4 miles inland. First we recced Makro for their stocks then next door t to the supermarket where we bought what Makro couldn't supply, then back to Makro to pick up the heavy stuff. We hailed a taxi and because the car was powered by gas there was a huge gas tank in the boot and not enough room for all our groceries, the beer had to travel on the front passenger seat. Not quite finished with the mammoth task of food shopping, when we got back to the marina we found a workman's wheelbarrow to load our shop into and wheel along the dock to the dinghy. Into the dinghy, out to Jackster, pile out of the dinghy, stow and collapse. It's worth all the effort when you are sitting in a quiet anchorage enjoying a cool sundowner and realising you don't have to go hunter gathering for at least 6 weeks and in between you can eat like kings.
