Tuesday 10 August Goodbye Palmerstone, Hello Beveridge Reef

This morning we slipped the mooring and headed off to Beveridge Reef in the company of Stuart on Imagine and another Super Maramu, Delos with Brian, Erin and Brady aboard. The first 24 hours were easy sailing and then the winds piped up as forecast and we had a brisk sail and bigger seas for the second day of the trip. When the winds were lighter we caught two dorados, one on each line we were towing. The starboard side catch was a 5' female, port side a 4'6” male. Males have prominent rounded heads. They lay side by side in the cockpit with Polly the cat licking the blood from the hole where the gaff hook had been. Each fish must have been 18 to 20lbs because they gave us 20lbs of sweet boneless, skinned fillets for the freezer. All I have to do now is come up with 20 different ways to serve it.
