Thursday 27 July Nadi

sunset in the marina
Today we went into the small town of Nadi for more shopping and a bite of lunch. Lunch was at a Chinese fusion restaurant. Food definitely Chinese, decoration a mix of Chinese, Asian furniture, pictures of Italian harbours, a rural English countryside, the Indian restaurant favourite of a backlit waterfall, music absolutely Fijian. Jackster tours recommend the Bo Hai Chinese in Main Street, Nadi.

The soles of David's expensive NZ Tevas (rugged sandals) have come apart from the uppers so he dropped them into a shoe repair shop to have them stitched together. We bought a Vodafone USB Flashnet which enables you to receive internet signals into your computer using a mobile telephone signal. In theory if we are anywhere where there is a mobile phone signal we'll be able to read our emails. That's the theory. Will it work and will the signal be strong enough is still to be investigated. We picked up some essentials from the supermarket and found the 30p resort bus back to Denerau marina.
