A quiet day and a special dinner out this evening. Most of our day was spent searching and ordering from the internet; for the boat sourced small spare parts for the two main winches and bought LED mast head bulbs and for me a rugged waterproof camera and an international specification Kindle. Our friends Gary and Jackie from Inspiration Lady are at home in Canada for the summer and have kindly offered to bring parts back to NZ from the US for us. The US is consistently the cheapest place to buy anything for the boat, electronics, most things especially if a friend can hand carry it. Last year we had to replace the VHF radio and were fortunate to know another cruiser who had a guest from the US coming to stay.
Our romantic meal for two was to celebrate our third wedding anniversary. We went to Bad Dog restaurant in downtown Suva for a slap up meal of European influence; bruschetta, lamb shanks, pork tenderloin, and for David, a trifle to finish the meal. I was finished, stuffed to bursting full up. Guess I can't eat like I used to...just as well.
