Saturday 29 September Noah's Ark

It's rained continually today. Jackster feels like Noah's Ark in the deluge. Fiji mainland has issued flood warnings for low lying areas – fortunately we rise on the tide.

Stripped to minimal shorts and t shirt and protected by raincoats we dinghied in to the marina for some time off the boat. Attached to Traders supermarket is a café serving an excellent coffee and soft sofas on the verandah where you can sit and watch the world go by or the rain fall from the sky. Friends stopped by and we chatted. David secured a 2L tub of ice cream to squirrel back to the boat for his afternoon treats. I got excited about new deliveries of fresh veg! When life's this wild you've got to look for the highlights in the day!
If you're reading this and wondering why we're still lazing in Musket Cove we're waiting for a package to arrive from the States and then we can leave for New Caledonia on the next weather window – about 4 days passage in good conditions.
