We
went in to town to finish off our shopping this morning and then
called in to see our Swiss friends Chantal and Fredy on Micromegas.
This is another couple we met earlier this year, this time it was in
New Zealand in April then we spent time together in Musket Cove in
Fiji. Together with another 4 Swiss boats they are camped in Noumea
enjoying all things French. We enjoyed coffee with them and caught
up on their news before saying au revoir and heading back out to Ilot
Maitre. They'll be coming here this weekend.
It
was a lively sail and short to the island in 30 knot winds. A scrap
of headsail was sufficient. Picking up the mooring ball could have
been a problem but we've old timers. I take the helm and David picks
up the ball and puts the line on. It's too heavy for me to lift out
of the water. The strong wind slackened into the evening but it
was still too cool to eat in the cockpit this evening.
