We've
now learned the Government vet clinic was open between 2pm and 5pm.
Time for Polly to try out the transport basket we've been given and
take a ride shoreside. She was very good and it was much safer than
travelling in a backpack as she did when we went to the vet in
Sandakan.
Poor
Polly being shipped around but it is for her own good – she needs
one final booster shot for respiratory illnesses. At first it seems
we might be thwarted as the clinic closes at 4pm and it's now fifteen
minutes after and the vet has left for the day. Not wanting to give
up easily we press our case and a nurse assistant is persuaded to
sell us the vaccine and instruct us on how to do the injection next
Thursday.
The
taxi had waited for us and now brought us back to the yacht club
where Polly was the centre of attraction. She's most amenable to
being cuddled and while she was happy to be held when we tried her
loose with her collar and lead it wasn't such a success.
