The
procedure for clearing out from Palau couldn't be simpler, it could
be cheaper, but not simpler. One phone call from Sam's Tours to the
Transport department and Customs and Immigration officers come to us
at Sam's to complete the process. We hand them $50 per person
departure tax. They give us our clearance papers to Philippines and
stamp our passports.
Then
it was back to Jackster to lift the dinghy and stow it for passage,
goodbyes to our friends in the anchorage and we were heading away on
a sunny morning, back to sea for our longest ocean passage, 560nm,
since we crossed from New Caledonia to Brisbane more than two years
ago.
