From
the brief, and wet stop, in Chalong we had another good sail in the
strong winds around the bottom of Phuket island to the popular
yachties bay, Nai Harn. Usually protected from the prevalent north
easterlies we were still kopping 15 to 20 knots over the deck at
anchor and more wet dinghy rides in to the dinghy dock at the yacht
club. We like Nai Harn for it's sandy beach, pretty coves and the
best French boulangerie on the island. It would be very rude to
visit NH and not visit the bakery for a coffee and baguettes.

| Happy New Year |
Amy
had a hankering for a Margarita and the fee for using the yacht club
dock was 100% refundable against drinks at the bar so would have been
rude not to have an end of year treat. This is me with a Margarita
and David with his girly Pina Colada. It's his favourite cocktail –
really.
There
is one five star hotel over looking the bay and they had a New Year
party – dinner with unlimited drinks for a mere £180 per head!
Looked fantastic, but not for poor cruisers. For our NYE
celebration we had sunset drinks on a private yacht, a wonderful
dinner at a local restaurant over looking the same bay and returned
to the private yacht for champagne (with thanks to AndrAmy for
bringing) while having the perfect position to watch all the
fireworks at midnight.
