Our
first morning of 'fun' dives with Paradise Divers took us around to
the more sheltered north side of the island for a wall dive and our
second dive a shallower reef back on the south and west end. Next
day the weather was more settled and we dive an offshore pinnacle and
a reef close to the land where David found a seahorse and a species
of ray neither of us has seen before. It was a yellow ray, pretty
mottled marking and about the size of a blue spotted ray.
On
the third, and our last day out, we went back to the north side to
dive another site on the big wall and this time we were joined by a
curious nurse shark. The last dive was a disappointment – we had
been going to go back for the seahorse but the buoy had disappeared
and we changed to a lesser site near light house reef. Too much sand
in the water reduced visibility and enjoyment.
We
did enjoying diving with the young crowd; their enthusiasm and energy
is infectious.
