1 June Lanyard Cay, Abacos

Our entry channel through the fringing reef of the Abacos was Little Harbour and then a jink mile to the protected anchorage west of Lanyard Cay with another seven boats. June is the switch month when the summer wind and weather patterns are beginning to become established. The wind comes gently from the east south east and we should expect to see increasing rain. Summer is the rainy season as well as hurricane season but because Florida is only a day or two away many US boats stay for the summer, motoring home for cover if a tropical storm is forecast.
The water is wonderfully clear and I'm swimming everyday. There may not be much to see on the inside of the islands and reefs, but I just enjoy the water.
