I
returned from a month at home yesterday and today we went got into
gear ordering stuff from Amazon and sorting out our mobile phone.
Sorting out the mobile phone involved ditching Metro PCS which has
failed to deliver any internet coverage in NY for a month. We called
the provider three times and had pleasant chats with ladies in the
Philippines about lack of coverage the final call was to request a
refund on our monthly $50 charge to be offered $5 off next month's
fee. So we have changed to AT&T and have a full service.
A
couple of hours in the library followed where to logged on to Amazon
and did some serious shopping replacing head torches, dive torches, a
waterproof bluetooth music speaker, USB cables, etc. The little
things that make a difference. David had had a chat with the manager
at the local ACE store and they had offered to act as our mail drop
address – an essential for online shopping.
We're
going to pick up one of the two day free mooring balls for the
weekend as hurricane Dorian which destroyed the Abacos passes about
300 miles to the east of us. We don't expect it to affect us
greatly, but on a mooring ball we are closer to the dinghy dock and
away from an area where boats might drag. We were hit by a dragging
boat during a storm in Newport, don't want another scratch.
