We are awake early to check the latest update on hurricane Beryl. OMG! It's worse. The forecast is upgraded to a major hurricane, category 3 with sustained winds of 115 mph or greater and the expected track of the eye is to the north of Carriacou.

GFS, the American weather model, forecasts winds of up to 70 knots for Carriacou, less for the south Grenada. It looks really bad for Bequia so I'm relieved we moved while we could, but concerned for the people and the boats that stayed.

We need to keep moving south to be safe. We send an email to Port Louis Marina on the south of Grenada to see if they could find a berth for us. If the answer is no, we have the choice of Prickly Bay or to go on to Trinidad. Yesterday we were passed by ferries from Barbados on their way to Trinidad.

At 8am the marina says 'yes. We have a spot for you'. As we are motoring out there are a line of boats moving into the 'safety' of Carriacou's mangrove lagoon,
