Saturday, 6 March Pacific Puddle Jumpers Party

Pacific Pude Jumpers is an informal groupd sponsored by a US sailing magazine to support sailors who cross the Pacific. The magazine had organised an afternoon party at the local yacht club in conjunction with the Tahiti tourist board and we were all invited.
I think every yacht in Balboa was there. The offer of free drinks, food and a raffle may have something to do with it. Do you know there are five groups of islands which make up the French Society Islands (part of the EU); Marquesas, Tuamotu, Tahiti (leeward and windward islands), Gambier & Austral and that they cover an area equal to the size of western Europe? The pictures in the slide show were mouthwatering. I want to go there now. It's only 4000nm and 4 weeks sailing between here in Panama and The Marquesas and the Galapagos to visit on the way.
There was a photographer to take a group shot and pictures of individual crews. David and I posed for our shot.
Good afternoon of socialising, putting faces to the names we hear on the radio.
