Fatu Hiva
18 days and 4 hours since we lifted our anchor in Galapagos we drop it in 30m depth in Fatu Hiva, French Polynesia. It was a great crossing and 3 days faster than we'd expected. The bay is incredibly beautiful. Tall, verdant cliffs rise from deep blue water. Around the edges of the bay it's only 18m deep, but all spots are taken and we have to use every inch of our chain to put out enough scope. At the head of the bay there is a small village. However it's obscured from the anchorage by palm trees and more steep cliffs.

We arrived late afternoon and just had time to put Jackster to bed before going out for drinks aboard Dignity. We haven't seen Helen and Steve since we dived with them in Bonaire in November. They've always been a day or two ahead of us so it was great to catch up with them and to meet their grown up son, John. Inspiration Lady and Bristol Rose joined the party and we had a lively evening. I was glad to get back home and sleep a full night in my own bed with my husband.
