Friday 21 January More boat fixing

Auckland harbour bridge
Our plans to go exploring the city got defenetrated at midday. We'd biked as far as the Viaduct Marina in central downtown when our cunning plans came to a happy halt. First we called into the marina office and booked a spot for the next couple of nights amongst the gleaming super yachts and then we saw our friends on Glen and Cindy Mystery Ship. A very pleasant discovery, double pleasant when we found our berth would be next to them. We had to stop for a chat – would have been rude not to :)
Then we got a call to say the Raymarine technician would be available this afternoon to do a bench test and system upgrade on our errant chart plotter at the office 10 miles out of town. Why do these 'opportunities' happen late on Friday afternoon and never first thing on a Tuesday? It was a dash out in a taxi and an hour testing to find the unit is working perfectly. Our trip back into town was a more leisurely bus ride except it was a wet one mile walk in the rain from bus stop to the sanctuary of Jackster. A warming glass of red wine helped.
