A
few days ago David discovered a leak in one of the high pressure oil
hoses; a fix using self amalgamating tape, sticks to itself and
everything it touches, which was bought on a whim in Panama three
years ago and unused until now, stopped the leak. Now we're in
Airlie we could a proper repair. An internet search showed a
hydraulic hose specialist a couple of miles from town. A phone call
and a visit and we have not one, but three new hoses. In removing
the offending hose and discovering it had degraded with age, checking
the two similar hoses showed they also needed replacing before they
split.
Eagerly
searching out trade shops in exotic locations is all part of the
cruising life. As a treat on the way back from the hose shop we went
to the big out of town supermarket and filled with lots of heavy
groceries to carry home on the bus. And to think I used to pay to
belong to a gym to get my exercise and weight training. It's all free
when you're a cruiser.
I
joke. It's not hard and we do have a very good life which I wouldn't
change. This evening Sue and Bill of Camomile and Sara and Norman of
Norsa came over for drinks and we had a very convivial evening with
lots of jokes and laughter.
