A
special day today, David's birthday, so lots of treats were
mandatory. Breakfast in Butterfly bay with the birds ad butterflies
around us and then off to Manta Ray bay for a dive. It's only a very
small bay, deep water close to the cliffs and small beach and a
couple of balls available. There was no one else there when we
arrived which meant all the fish which are regularly fed by the
visiting tourist boats were straight on to us.

Our
welcoming committee of fish was a school of yellow tails, three big
Napoleon or Maori wrasse and a big trevally. The visibility was much
better today and we were rewarded with a good dive amongst the
bommies and soft corals with our friends the wrasse following in the
hope of a feed on the way. After the dive I snorkelled with my
camera and was able to get some nice pictures of the Napoleon wrasse.
The
big birthday party was held in Cid Harbour with our good friends Sue
and Bruce of Chilli Heat hosting the bash with plenty of bubbles and
a superb roast port dinner.
