Monday 18 November Assault course for softies

Staying at Admiral Marina, Port Dickson is like being on holiday. We have a nice place to park Jackster and free access to all the attached hotel amenities including a lovely swimming pool and shower rooms, free internet in the chilled Business Centre and our friends close by. We're here for the second stop on Sail Malaysia with almost a week of activities planned for our amusement.
This afternoon we're all invited to take part in a Team Building event. As a conference centre the hotel features a small assault course area where you can race each other in games of skill and organisation. We'd spotted the climbing wall, the zip wire and high level rope walk and thought it looked fun. Many of the grey army, aka retired sailors, thought it looked too strenuous and stayed at the pool or in the bar. In the end the 33 of us who took part were taken through five of the easiest challenges with excellent instruction in safety.
It was a lot of fun. You had to pass the whole team of 11 through a spider's web of rope without touching and only using each whole once. The smallest people had to trust the rest to lift and post them through. Ellie at 9 years old was our smallest and youngest. Paul of Calypso at 73 was the oldest and probably fittest of the bunch.

no touching the lines!
In another challenge we had to pass a hoop along an ascending line. At first a tall man could do it but by the end we'd had me on David's shoulders, a taller woman held by four men and finally young Ellie standing on the crossed arms of David and Paul.
At the end of the day us and another team had each won two of the five timed events but they had a second place over our third and won the title on points. Ahh! We all agreed it had been a lot of fun and well within the physical capabilities of softie yachties.
