Friday 10 January Mainsail commission

The decision has been made. Yesterday we met Ket who had been highly recommended to us by Stuart on Imagine. There are some people you instantly like and trust. Ket is one of these people.
He arrived at the dock on the dot of 10 o'clock as we'd arranged and was happy for us to drive out with him to his sail loft – a fraction of the size of Rolly Tasker's loft – and met his all female team. In fact Ket had worked for Tasker's for twenty years before setting up his own company. The adage of small is good fits with our philosophy (coming from a small person!) and just as we did when we needed a new head sail in NZ, we've opted to go with the extra attention to detail versus being just another sail for a large company. We feel we've placed our trust in the right place. Validating this, Ket has also done an excellent repair job on our old sail and returned it within a day.
He brought it back to us this afternoon so we're now free to go sailing around Phang Nga bay for 10 to 14 days while he makes the new sail and while the Raymarine chart plotter is being repaired.
