At
sunset when we were only 30nm from Walvis Bay the wind stopped as
suddenly as it had begun yesterday afternoon. From sailing at a
steady 7 to 8 knots we were back to the motoring at 6 which feels
slow! A friend who visited a couple of years ago wrote that a night
entry is straight forward. It is. We passed the north cardinal at
Pelican Point a little before 11pm. Keeping the large boat anchorage
on our port side and the dredged channel to starboard we made our way
to the small boat anchorage close to the WBYC and anchored at
22.57.00S 14.28.67E 4m LAT. Miles covered 260nm. Time taken 1 day 13
hours.
