2 October Satellite office

We needed a half day of sitting in front of our laptop to order yet more from Amazon and to design and order boat cards. In the cruising world boat cards are used in similar way to Victorian calling cards. Meet someone new, someone you'd like to keep in touch with, and instead of writing down boat name, your names and email addresses, flash a card and job's a good 'un. We include a picture of Jackster on the front and a charming shot of us on the back as an aide memoire of who they met.
This kind of business required a move to the office, or in this case to Starbucks with tables, power outlets and a steady supply of caffeine. While we were working we, as in David, began a conversation with the man next to us. He was also a cruiser here on his boat. As the way conversations go we came round to talking about visiting Washington DC, it's not far from Annapolis, and he asked if we knew about the commuter bus service. It runs mornings into Washington and late afternoon back to Annapolis and costs $5, or $4 if you're 62 or over. We decided to go tomorrow morning, stay overnight and come back the following afternoon. Long enough to see the highlights, not too long to leave Polly.
