Our
14 days quarantine is complete and we can go ashore by dinghy to clear Customs and Immigration.
It's so exciting to be going to land!
Both
the Immigration and Customs officers are a delight. Cayman people
are warm and welcoming. David is having a lively chat with the lady
while I concentrate on filling in the many forms. What do you write
when the country you are coming from is the same as the one you are
arriving? My forms are completed and we wait for approval. Our
passports are stamped as new entries with permission to stay for 30
days gratis. Next stop is the supermarket.
I'm
receiving so many gifts it must be my birthday, as much fun as
Christmas because when we arrive at the supermarket and show the
police woman our photo ID she notes David is over 60, therefor a
pensioner, and pensioners have priority to jump to the front of the
queue. Never has being old(er) been so good. I should point out I'm
not a pensioner but regarded as a companion, or a helper, for the
elderly Captain. It gave us a good chuckle. There was nothing old
about the way we attacked those well stocked shelves with fresh
goodness and fresh baked bread. Definitely as a day as good as a
birthday today.
