We received negative test results five days ago and were able to officially clear in to Grenada at Customs and Immigration based at Carriacou Marina. Since then we've explored the Tyrell Bay area, had a couple of meals and confirmed our haul out date for the Tuesday after Easter (6 April).
One of our deciding reasons to come to Carriacou was to source Jotun Seaforce 90 antifoul from the Caribbean agent in Trinidad. A couple of months ago we'd emailed and established there were stocks and they could be sent by inter island ferry. Now we are here David wrote to confirm and pay only to receive the response that they had sold out and couldn't estimate when it would next be back in stock.
What a shock! However, the second part of the email gave contact details for their agent in Carriacou who thay had contacted on our behalf and he had six gallons of black in sock. Well, we dashed off on our bikes to his office to secure the supplies – probably, possibly, the very last six gallons in the whole Caribbean – and then relaxed. It's going to be delivered to the boatyard when we haul out.
Today we hopped one of the local minibus taxis to the main town of Hillsborough to check out the hardware shops; we need rollers and paint trays, dust masks and sand paper. Preparation, preparation, preparation.
