24 August Renovating teak

My project today was to sand and re-oil our teak cockpit tables. We have one that folds out behind the helm seat where we eat our meals and a smaller table which clips onto the surround of the helm seat for drinks and dumping sunglasses. Both were made for us when we were in Thailand five years ago.

First I washed the dust and dirt off and then lightly sanded with the orbital sander before applying a couple of coats of oil.

Amazing to see the colour change from grey to chestnut.
