13 March Ile Fourchue

A week of hanging out in the southern anchorage, Anse de Salines, as a northerly swell came in and then northern bay, Anse de Colombier, when the swell switched to south east and we are ready to move on to our next island.

Distances between countries are small in this part of the Caribbean and the superyachts are large. St Barts is one of the smaller islands, less than 10 sq m and it's the most expensive island.  One can see Antigua, Montserrat, St Kitts and Nevis, Saba and St Martin from the anchorage outside Gustavia. Although the distance from here to St Martin is only19nm we broke the journey with a couple of days on a free mooring ball in Ile Fourchue which is part of St Barts and lies 5nm north. I was able to do some nice snorkelling here – not many fish but interesting underwater topography of boulders to mooch around.  I've been looking for an octopus, but once again none spotted.
