An early start to cross from Rhum Cay in Bahamas to Luperon, Dominican Republic via an overnight stop off Turks and Caicos. We left Simpatico to carry on to Cuba and picked up Bill & Cathy on Indemnity to join the fleet.
We are gaining confidence in our ability to handle Jackster and to handle the seas. Being out in the big ocean and making a long passage is very different to the day sailing we did in the Solent. Firstly, there are a lot less hazards here, ie no ferries or freighters bearing down your neck and no yachts/dinghies/windsurfers crossing your bow. No, we just have big waves and some murderous looking squall clouds ahead. All very character building.
