Friday 14 September Return to Malakati

In the cruising I-Spy book we can tick off visiting the most northerly village in the Yasawas. Our next task is to apply for an extension for David's visitor visa. When we arrived form NZ in May we were given 4 month visitor visas. I went back to the UK and was given another 4 months when I returned in August but David's is about to expire and one doesn't ignore the rules of the host country. It could be costly. So we need to return to Denarau and take a visit out to the Immigration department at the airport within the next 10 days.

We opted to call in to Malakati once more for it's large and protected anchorage and another snorkel on the beautiful reef. On this swim we saw lots of juvenile lobsters hanging out in their holes in depths of less than 2m and a stingray sweeping across the reef.
It may have been a good move not to go into the village this afternoon as there was an outbreak of chicken pox.  OK we've both had chicken pox as children but why tempt fate?  Would you stand under a tree in a storm?
