Monday 10 September Diving Malakati

Christmas tree worms

Healthy corals
Yesterday's snorkelling on the reef was good enough to encourage us to get our dive kit out and dive it this afternoon. It's all shallow – under 10m – but with the scuba one can linger and explore the small caves under the wall. This time I saw the colourful Christmas tree worms embedded in the coral. We could admire the small lobster under the rock and his room mate the small eel. We lingered with the clown fish in the anemones and find an exquisitely marked cowrie shell (empty) under the ledge. After an hours' submersion I'd used less than third of the air in my tank and we'd seen many more critters than on snorkel.
