Today we came up from Ilot Brosse along the east coast of Iles des Pines to come to Baie Ugo tucked between the island an a fringing reef. It's even more beautiful than Ile Brosse with water colours ranging from cobalt of the deep water to crystal turquoise in the shallows of which there plenty. Finding a spot to anchor with sufficient swinging room between the cliff and the reef was an exercise in visualisation.

It was a quiet evening and after supper we sat down to watch a film. Suddenly there was a strange noise like something had shifted, a halyard had snapped or the dinghy on deck shifted. We flew up the companionway and found a stunned seabird lolling in the cockpit. The bum in the night must have been the bird flying into the rigging. David gave it the once over to check for damage (to the bird) and then we left it to recuperate and leave when it was ready. She / he had gone just after dawn leaving a collection of missives for David to wash away.
