Shiny
topsides, new antifoul and washed topsides; we are ready to go,
heading south destination Danga Bay marina in Johor Bahru.
We
left on the midday high water and sailed to a river estuary 35 miles
south. So shallow we had to anchor close to the safe water mark,
continually busy with trawlers exiting and entering the harbour we
had an anchor light plus flashing blue red light, a white LED centre
cockpit and white light aft to alert the local boats to our presence.
A couple of weeks ago our friends had anchored here and had had the
misfortune to be struck by a fishing boat. They properly had an
anchor light but were struck and the fishing boat which didn't stop
to acknowledge culpability.
