You
may have noticed I've been calling this a lift out and not a haul
out. This is because the marina has a different type of hydraulic
lift (which was repaired this morning). It's remotely driven down a
ramp into the water for you motor your keel into a pair of waiting
arms, long plump arms which are then raised you are lifted
horizontally. The benefit for us is we don't need to release
backstays and mizzen topping lift to fit into the length as we've
done in the past in a travel lift with slings.

Ade
the lift handler suggested 6pm as a good time when the tide would be
high. One boat was dropped back in and as soon as he was clear we
moved onto the trailer and Ade drove the lift up into the yard where
we had our bottom pressure washed. There was very little fouling
since we cleaned in the water 4 days ago. This took quarter of an
hour. Shoring us up on chocks between Norsa and Atea took two hours;
the lads left us with power hooked up and a ladder secured from
ground to rear step just after 8pm.
For
dinner we cycled in to town to the Biryani Restorantfor our last meal
for a while when we weren't dog tired.
No
rain today.
