Finally,
we could leave the trials of Nassau behind and I can start writing
about the beauty of the islands. Six mile s east of Nassau is Rose
island, a short distance from the capital but entirely different. A
sandy anchorage where the boat sits to wind. A few day come to
visit, but after 5 o'clock it's wonderfully quiet.

We
took the dinghy to a small island across the channel where we
discovered unexpectedly beautiful fauna and flora; birds, ducks and
hermit crabs grazing on the flowers of shore side plants. Back on
Rose island there are at least three peacocks which roam the
abandoned buildings.
