Saturday, 20 March Las Perlas to Isla Taboga

Time to keep moving back towards Panama City for our final provisioning before headinjg to Galapagos. It was an idyllic day for sailing with fair wind and flat seas. We arrived at the island of Taboga late afternoon and picked up a mooring buoy. It's too deep to drop the anchor and only £5 for a mooring so tie up and sleep secure.

Our friends on Inspiration Lady and Bristol Rose arrived yesterday and we joined them for sundowners ashore and dinner at a chinese restaurant. Taboga is a pretty and unspoilt island just 7 miles from the capital and a perfect jewel. the bar we had drinks in has been in the same family for 400 years and the foundations are the originals. When we saw it again from outside we wondered how much longer this old building could contnue clinging to the rock face before slipping onto the beach. The lighting was minimal which was probably a bonus as you didn't want to look too closely into the corners. It's all part of life's rich tapestry.
