Sunday 9 May Traditional barbecue

We went to a lunchtime barbecue at Desiree's house in the village. Her husband, Jacques, had roasted a pig, a goat and some chickens in a traditional earth oven with hot stones and we had this with rice, breadfruit, salad and lemon drink. We were about twenty cruisers enjoying wonderful Marquesian hospitality.

In the late afternoon Gary and Jack came over and helped us to control the headsail as we winched it back up the forestay. It all went swimmingly and we have the headsail hoisted and the errant halyard fixed.
